Pretty bright silver Zuni Fetish Bear earrings that I have upcycled by adding the twisted wire jump rings, and hand formed ear wires.
These bears are engraved with native symbols highlighted in a black patina.
A fetish represents the animal spirit in Native cultures. They believe they have magical powers.
The Bear is the most powerful animal, and the Zuni Bear represents healing & protection, as well as, transforming passion into true wisdom.
The Arrow represents protection and defense.
The Lightning Bolt represents power.
The Bear Claw is sacred and is worn for protection and leadership.
These aren't stamped .925 Sterling but I believe they are. It may be because they are plated, but if that's the case, it is a high quality thick plate that doesn't loose it's finish over time to match the arrow on the bears, and to make them unique.
Jump rings and ear wires are Silver plated copper. The wire has a tarnish resistant finish. I formed the back of the wires into a lightning bolt shape.
Bears measure approx .75" tall x
1" long. Total drop is 2"
